Customers are at the center of everything we do. At Virginia Natural Gas, we are dedicated to delivering clean, safe, reliable and affordable energy to homes and businesses and directly helping our customers lower their energy use.
We’re helping our customers make improvements, big and small, through our energy efficiency program and rebate offerings. But we are also supporting the goal of our parent company, Southern Company Gas, to reach net-zero direct greenhouse gas emissions from operations by 2050 with infrastructure improvements and emissions reductions. But this is just one piece of the puzzle. By collaborating across the energy industry to reduce emissions from the entire natural gas supply chain, we can fuel a clean energy future.
While we strive to reduce our operational emissions, we also realize the importance of helping our customers reduce their energy use. We encourage our residential customers to improve the energy efficiency of their homes with our Energy Efficiency Program. With free home energy -savings kits that provide home efficiency improvements and money-saving rebates for new high-efficiency equipment, we lower the barriers for our customers to reduce their energy usage.

Our customers depend on the energy we provide and can rely on our infrastructure to fuel their lives with rarely an interruption. Our Steps to Advance Virginia’s Energy (SAVE) Program further advances the reliability and efficiency of our distribution infrastructure. Through this program, we have replaced more than 575 miles of aging piping from our system, including 100% of our low-pressure, cast-iron and copper pipes. These new pipes are more durable, reduce methane emissions and are less expensive to maintain, adding long-term reliability for our customers and our communities. Beyond our infrastructure improvements, we conduct regular inspections, proactively repair leaks and deploy modern technology and materials across our system to maximize efficiency and mitigate risks of service interruption.
Our internal teams, including field employees and customer service representatives, are key in connecting customers to financial aid programs from federal, state, local, and company-sponsored sources. Notably, the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) and company-partnered initiatives with the Salvation Army offer crucial support, including grants for seniors and veterans. We also offer alternative payment options and budgeting assistance to help customers pay their bill.
