Virginia Natural Gas helps popular urban trail stay clean
Virginia Natural Gas has joined forces with the City of Norfolk, private organizations and local companies to transform an iconic urban waterway into a community asset with a single trail that links different parts of the area and helps those that use it feel connected to the city.
The Elizabeth River Trail, a 10-mile trail along the historic Norfolk riverfront, travels through 28 historic neighborhoods, past an army fort commissioned by George Washington in 1794, and through a blend of restaurants, museums and local festivals.
That’s why Virginia Natural Gas provided a $50,000 grant to the Elizabeth River Trail Foundation to help keep the trail clean preserve the environment along the trail.
