Setting a New Bar in Training at New Kent Facility

In New Kent, technicians now have access to a state-of-the-art facility to take their field training to the next level. Built to replicate actual field settings – including compressed air to stand in for natural gas – the New Kent facility gives students an extremely accurate hands-on experience in a controlled environment.

• Four Basic Meter Activation Bays simulate what a student might encounter outside of a customer’s home, with sample fuel lines built in various sizes.
• Three Turn On Bays simulate residential and commercial appliances like water heaters, furnaces, space heaters and floor heaters.
• A Dig Barn lets students train to safety use digging and excavation equipment.
• And a traditional classroom ensures students are well-versed in all aspects of the job.
