Virginia Natural Gas is spreading warmth, comfort and joy to families in need through our ‘Energy to Give’ campaign. This holiday season we have partnered with several charitable organizations in the Hampton Roads area to make spirits bright.
Throughout November and December, VNG awarded more than $29,000 in grants to three local nonprofit organizations, collected over 1,400 pounds of food for two area food banks and purchased gifts and other holiday wish list items for 35 families through the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program.
Our team members also volunteered at the Salvation Army Christmas Depot, serving as Santa’s helpers distributing Angel Tree gifts, helping families shop for presents, stocking shelves and keeping the shopping area clean and organized. In addition, the employees at our New Kent office partnered with Hanover Safe Place to adopt a family of four through the organization’s holiday program. In January, we will also gift 80 coats to the children of the Boys & Girls Club of the Virginia Peninsula through Operation Warm.
