VNG Raises Over $28K for Polar Plunge 2022 and Special Olympics Virginia

The Polar Plunge for Special Olympics was back at the beachfront for 2022. This year, 26 Virginia Natural Gas employees, friends and family members took the icy dip into the Atlantic Ocean, marking the company’s 24th year of supporting Virginia’s Special Olympic athletes.

For the 2022 Plunge, VNG committed to “Turning Up the Heat” and “Going All In,” raising over $28,000 — $18,000 more than the set goal of $10,000 – in addition to $15,000 in corporate donations. VNG also provided 250 volunteer hours to help set up for the fundraiser, assist Special Olympics staff with event details the day of the Plunge and clean up the VNG area after the event.

In the last 23 years, Virginia Natural Gas and its employees have donated nearly $480,000 to support training, competitions, leadership opportunities and health services for the Polar Plunge initiative.
