Virginia Natural Gas Announces Customer Refunds and Fee Elimination Following Rate Request Approval 

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – September 18, 2023 – Virginia Natural Gas (VNG) is pleased to announce immediate customer reimbursements and benefits after the recent final rate approval from the Virginia State Corporation Commission, including one-time refunds and the elimination of convenience fees from electronic bill payments. 

VNG will initiate one-time refunds, with interest, to all customers beginning Sept. 18, 2023. These reimbursements are intended to compensate consumers for the difference between newly approved final rates and interim rates that were effective from Jan. 1-Aug. 31, 2023. This refund will be identified as a separate line item on a customer’s bill.

Furthermore, effective October 2023, VNG will eliminate convenience fees for all forms of bill payment, underlining our commitment to meeting our customers' needs for seamless payment options. Customers who were charged convenience fees on or after Jan. 1, 2023, will be receiving a one-time refund, commencing in mid-October 2023.
