J.D. Power: Virginia Natural Gas ranks second in mid-size utility segment, third nationally in customer satisfaction
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Sept. 15, 2016 – Virginia Natural Gas ranks second in customer satisfaction among mid-size utilities in the South and third nationally, according to the J.D. Power 2016 Gas Utility Residential Customer Satisfaction Study.
“I could not be prouder of our employees whose efforts reflect a true commitment to providing exceptional customer service,” said Jim Kibler, president of Virginia Natural Gas. “This recognition shows how we are committed to being the safest, most customer-focused and reliable natural gas service provider to our community."
The survey is based on responses from approximately 62,000 residential customers of the largest 82 natural gas utilities. Each utility was rated on a 1,000-point scale in six categories, including safety and reliability; billing and payment; corporate citizenship; customer service; price; and communications outreach to their customers.
Virginia Natural Gas’ 744-point customer satisfaction rating represents a 62-point improvement from last year’s survey. The company continues to provide safe and reliable service and distinguishes itself by communicating with customers through a number of channels that build awareness about affordability and benefits of natural gas, as well as pipeline safety, payment options and the impact the company is making on the community.
