Virginia Natural Gas Honored as One of Hampton Road’s Most Impactful Companies

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – October 26, 2023 – The Civic 50, a combined initiative by Points of Light and VOLUNTEER Hampton Roads, recognized Virginia Natural Gas (VNG) as one of Hampton Roads' most influential companies at a ceremony at the World Trade Center.

The Civic 50 is a combined initiative made by two non-profit organizations, Points of Light and VOLUNTEER Hampton Roads, to recognize companies that prioritize volunteerism, civic engagement, and make positive impacts on their communities. Both organizations have an established track record, Points of Light was founded by the late U.S. President George H.W. Bush in 1990 and VOLUNTEER Hampton Roads is a volunteer center with a long history in the area, dating back to 1957.

The Civic 50, a combined initiative by Points of Light and VOLUNTEER Hampton Roads, recognized Virginia Natural Gas (VNG) as one of Hampton Roads' most influential companies at a ceremony at the World Trade Center.

The Civic 50 uses in-depth surveys to recognize 50 U.S. companies that prioritize and demonstrate exceptional community service. According to Points of Light, the companies are selected based on the four dimensions of their community engagement and social impact program namely resource investment, integration across business functions, institutionalization through policies and systems and impact measurement.
