Virginia Natural Gas Headquarters Moves To Downtown Norfolk

November 21, 2005

NORFOLK, Va. – Nov. 21, 2005 – Virginia Natural Gas (VNG), a subsidiary of Atlanta-based AGL Resources (NYSE: ATG), today officially opened the company’s new headquarters at 150 West Main St. in downtown Norfolk.

“VNG has been a Norfolk corporation since City Gas Light was founded to light the streets of downtown Norfolk,” said Hank Linginfelter, president of Virginia Natural Gas. “We are glad to put our headquarters right back where we started more than 150 years ago. Norfolk is a great place to be and is centrally located with excellent access to all of our service territory.”

VNG recently sold its previous Norfolk campus headquarters at 5100 E. Virginia Beach Blvd. near Military Circle to the Union Mission.

“We are extremely pleased to have VNG put their headquarters back in downtown Norfolk,” said Paul Fraim, mayor of Norfolk. “VNG has been a great corporate citizen with our vibrant, growing city for a very long time. We welcome them back to the heart of downtown.”

About 35 VNG employees in operations, marketing, sales, and other business functions will work at the new headquarters.

“Technology has changed the way we operate and we determined we no longer needed a big campus to conduct our business,” said Linginfelter. “We wanted to be in the center of the Norfolk business community and found the ideal downtown space. Ultimately, the operational efficiencies we’ve achieved should result in some long-term cost savings to the company and its customers.”
