Damage Cost Recovery Process
Dig with C.A.R.E.

Call 8-1-1 before you dig.  The law requires you to notify all utilities at least three working days before digging, excluding weekends and holidays, so underground utility lines can be located and marked. This is a free service.

Call 8-1-1.

Special note to homeowners: You may not be as familiar with Miss Utility as professional excavators. For any project that requires digging – room addition, deck, fence, mailbox, even landscaping and sprinkler systems - call Miss Utility to protect yourself, your property, and our facilities.

SafetyTip: White Lining
White lining is an effective way to outline the area you plan to excavate with white paint to ensure the utilities in that particular area are clearly marked. For more information on white lining and other Virginia Marking Standards, please see the Virginia Underground Utility Marking Standards
