Generosity of Spirit
March of DImes 2012

Virginia Natural Gas continued its partnership with March of Dimes, by helping to raise funds for lifesaving research and community programs that help mothers have healthy, full-term pregnancies and strong, healthy babies.
In April, more than 35 employees, their friends and families laced up their sneakers and participated in the 5-mile walks at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront boardwalk and the campus of Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Va.
Virginia Natural Gas raised nearly $6,000 during several office fundraising events. The company has supported March of Dimes and its mission for 30 years, and is the campaign’s longest-standing corporate sponsor in Hampton Roads.
Clean the Bay Day 2011
Virginia Beach Town Center got a little spruced up in early June when volunteers from Virginia Natural Gas spent a Saturday morning cleaning up the city’s central business district.
Damage Prevention Specialist Zackery Gravely and his children, Madison and Landon; Associate Engineer Jonathon Blackwell and his wife Lisa; Kevin Klausmeier, a corrosion supervisor; and Julie Groves, a credit specialist, collected several hundred cigarette butts and other litter as part of Clean the Bay Day 2011.
The one-day effort brings together volunteers, who helped pick up trash and debris along one of the area’s greatest natural resources, the Chesapeake Bay, it's tributaries and inland waterways located throughout Hampton Roads.
More than 1,100 volunteers cleaned up 46 sites in Virginia Beach. They bagged more than 19,000 pounds of trash.
